Maracof is a company committed to carrying out its activities civil works, building and industrial constructions and design in an environmentally friendly way, and providing the maximum satisfaction to its clients. Therefore, it has created this Quality, Environment and Occupational Health and Safety Policy, which is the framework for establishing its objectives.

The system implemented by Maracof satisfies the applicable requirements of the UNE-EN ISO 9001:2015, UNE-EN ISO 14001:2015, UNE-EN ISO 45001:2018 and SA 8000 regulations.

The pillars of the company’s policy are:

  • 1. Awareness of the requirements of clients, whether private or public administrations, in order to increase their satisfaction.
  • 2. The prevention of errors must take priority for their prevention.
  • 3. The planning of activities, at all levels of the company, for achieving continuous improvement of quality, the environment, and occupational health and safety.
  • 4. The promotion of training,education and professional competence necessary for all company employees, so that each one carries out their function in the best way possible, thus satisfying the needs of clients. Before entrusting a task to an employee, their professional capacity for undertaking it will be considered in terms of health and safety. Only employees that have received sufficient training may access serious and/or specific risk areas.
  • 5. Communication, at all levels of the organisation, is essential for improving quality, the environment and occupational health and safety. Employees have the right to actively participate in matters related with occupational risk prevention.
  • 6. Awareness of the environmental impact of the activities undertaken is essential, firstly to prevent it, secondly to minimise it, and thirdly to correct it, as far as possible.
  • 7. The commitment to preventing pollution derived from the activities undertaken.
  • 8. The commitment to comply with legislation and regulations on the environment and health and safety, as well as the quality of work, the requirements of clients, implied requirements, requirements of the integrated system of the company and other requirements applicable or to which the organisation subscribes, related with risks to occupational health and safety.
  • 9. The commitment to preventing harm and/or deterioration of the health of employees while work is carried out. Preventive orientation of the activity to prevent risks and evaluate those which it was not possible to eliminate.
  • 10. The regulation of work undertaken by safety and hygiene conditions, at all stages, at all levels. The health and safety of employees as a contribution to the execution of the business activity, preserving and developing the physical and human resources, and reducing the losses and legal responsibilities derived from occupational risks arising.
  • 11. Consultation and participation of workers in HSE.
  • 12. The determination of preventive measures, if possible carried out on the origin of the risks, and if applicable, prioritising collective protective measures over individual protective measures.
  • 13. The selection of equipment and working and production methods, intending to reduce monotonous and repetitive work, and reduce its effects on the health of employees.
  • 14. The planning of prevention, seeking a coherent system that integrates the method, the organisation of work, social relationships and the influence of environmental factors on work.
  • 15. The integration of quality, the environment and the protection of health and safety in the undertaking of work.
  • 16. The adaptation to all legal requirements on national labour regulations, and respect for international agreements related with the International Labour Organisation, Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and other applicable international instruments.
  • 17. The prohibition of the contracting and/or undertaking of work by minors, as well as the occurrence of discriminatory conditions in any form: gender, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, etc.
  • 18. The maintenance of a schedule and remuneration system in accordance with the legal provisions set out in the Employment Code and in accordance with the recommendations of the SA8000 regulation.
  • 19. The treatment of all employees with respect, dignity and equality.
  • 20. Respect for the freedom of association and right to collective negotiation. Promotion of ongoing social dialogue with stakeholders, and especially with employees.
